Flex2B Recall Management

What is a Food Product Recall Procedure

food recall procedure is the name for actions taken to remove any food from sale, distribution, and consumption which may pose a food safety risk to consumers. It can occur due to a report from various sources, including manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and consumers.

It is important that you understand where you are in the Food Logistics Chain, and how you should communicate and escalate.

The solution gives you the ability to join incidents in an 'Recall Issue'. Although the solution gives you that ability, you should have a Food Contamination Incident work flow document that can assist you during the exercise.

A simplified scheme is included below in this document. It is important that you define your own. The Oryx Business Consultants team can assist you doing this exercise. It should be clear to management and co-workers.

You should have the ability to communicate simple logistics SSCC codes in the Logistics Chain as well as including Lot or Batch numbers associated to it. These  are often defined in the GS1 Application Identifier 10.

The recall management module gives you the ability to store all references to Stock Units into a Container for the Recall Issue. This permits you to assemble information for the distribution to other parties, such as Forwarders, Distribution Centres, but also to Suppliers.
